Stock Analyst

Position Purpose

Analyse all available stock data sources and build outputs to enable the reduction of stock levels including dead and excess stock, building of excellent relationships, reducing stock holdings and wastage across the estate and improve working capital.


Job Description

  • Run all available reports to identify excess stock for all pharmacies, such as stock counts, interbranch transfers and deadstock activities.
  • Create excess stock outputs, by referencing other data sources and creating logic to ensure the correct excess values are identified for each pharmacy.
  • Upload files into PMR portal daily.
  • Identify and resolve any upload errors.
  • Create daily reporting for excess stock to identify any erroneous stock details.
  • Create weekly excess stock reporting to ensure all excess is created in full and is accurate.
  • Compare owings reports for pharmacies and remove any excess stock values that may have created an owing.
  • Create output files for Finance to post stock movements.
  • Identification and resolution of any errors.
  • Support the Stock team to undertake Excess stock analysis.
  • Support the Stock team to undertake Dead stock analysis and processes.
  • Receive, resolve and respond to any pharmacy queries relating to their excess stock.
  • Support with other operational ad-hoc tasks aimed at driving effective stock management within the retail estate.
  • Liaise and work with the appropriate teams to drive processes: Stock team, NHS Buying, HSC Returns Team, Communication, Finance, MI & Data, HSC Customer Services, IT, Retail Support.
  • Identify all elements of excess stock and ensure processes incorporate these.
  • Identify process changes to continually improve the process.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce stock levels and wastage.

Experience and Qualification

  • MBA / BBA preferably in Finance.
  • 02 to 03 years of relevant experience.

Specific Requirements

  • Fluent in spoken English.
  • Excellent analytical and system interrogation skills, including a minimum of advanced excel, with knowledge of power queries being advantageous
  • Detailed knowledge of all stock data sources
  • Highly organised with the ability to plan own workload
  • Knowledge/understanding of pharmacy products, types and categories
  • Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data and to take action
  • Comfortable to work from 12 p.m to 9 p.m.
