Position Purpose
To lead the environment related legal and technical issues at all works in order to ensure the management and compliance of the Company’s Health & Safety & Environment policy and guidelines. |
Job Description
- Develop, implement and maintain Environment Policy. Set long, medium and short term goals and objectives of Environment department at all Plant Sites.
- Ensure that environment practices and policies are understood, implemented and consistently followed by all plants, employees and service providers.
- Define, follow-up and optimize environmental budgets and expenses.
- Ensure environmental regulatory compliance in all processes, plant modifications, use of fuel and materials etc.
- Review the performance of the environment dept. at works through setting Key Performance Indicators also suggest areas of improvement.
- Arrange training programs for environment awareness.
- Ensure timely submission of all internal and external reports. Review departmental SOPs on yearly basis to streamline the EMS 14001.
- Analyse feedback from all departments on Environments aspects & its impacts and provide sustainable solution and mitigation measures.
- Ensure Compliance with legal obligation of PEPA Act 1997 (Amended 2012) by achieving environment related NOC / approvals for any required project. Follow up of environmental approval from environmental protection agencies and concerned consultant.
- Fulfill consultant’s requirements for environmental approvals and respond to any query from Environmental Protection Department.
- Manage and record local public concerns / complaints in liaison with concerned department in supervision of top management.
- Represent the company at EPA or other authorities with respect to environmental issues.
- Analyse emissions results in comparison to National Environmental Quality standards (NEQs) and Punjab Environmental Quality Standards (PNEQs) to fulfill legal obligation Pakistan National Environmental Quality Standards.
- Observe water consumption limits and adopt & implement water conservation strategies.
- Provide solution and follow up of maintenance activity of ‘Emission Control Action Plan’ in coordination with Production, Mechanical and Electrical Departments.
- Evaluate and analyse Monthly Environmental Reports of WHRPP, Mining and Production department before submission to EPA.
- Conduct environmental briefing for Visitors / Contractors / Guests before every meeting or as required.
- Plan, Design and Implement Quarry Rehabilitation in coordination with Mining and Admin Departments.
- Any additional task assigned by the management.
Experience and Qualification
- Masters / Bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences / Engineering or related discipline from HEC recognized University / Institution.
- 10 to 13 years of experience in Health, Safety and Environment with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
